Breathwork can bring profound healing, resolution and transformation in a really gentle way – without involving the head – the main culprit of stress!
With the quickening pace of life, rapid change, global problems and technology that demands us to keep up, it’s no wonder so many of us are struggling and feeling stressed, anxious, burnt out or stuck. And on top of that, we’re going through a planetary shift that’s bringing all our unhealed wounds and past traumas up to the surface to be healed.
In times of stress, where we’re resisting what life is bringing us, we tense up and contract our breath as an unconscious reaction to something we don’t want to feel.
If we don’t allow ourselves to feel and fully process what’s arising, it stays in our bodies, which can lead to all manner of dis-ease, weakness, feeling unwell, overwhelmed and an inability to cope – plus it stops us from accessing our true power.
And if you resist the ‘bad’ stuff that you don’t want to feel, you will also stop the flow of the ‘good’ that’s lined up for you.
So breathwork is a truly powerful way to complete and integrate unprocessed feelings and emotions, and helps us get into flow.
Why breathwork?
You might be wondering why anyone needs breathwork, given that we all breathe! However, there are a number of conscious breathwork techniques that help you reconnect to the body, disconnect from the mind and thoughts and reconnect to the heart. These practices work with the subconscious to assist the body and nervous system to let go of layers of emotional debris, stress and resistance that it’s been holding onto, releasing energetic and emotional blocks and bringing about healing and transformation.
It’s an empowering way to bring strong emotions, memories, limiting beliefs and unhealed traumas to the surface to be integrated from any time in your life, right back to birth, to being in the womb, ancestral traumas and even from past lives.
A breathwork facilitator will help you to set a clear intention for what you want from the session, and your breath will safely bring up exactly what you need to release – and never more than you can handle.
What will you experience?
You can experience anything in a breathwork session… from cathartic tears and a powerful healing to peak spiritual experiences and deep joy and laughter… inspiration, clarity and deep insights… you might get lots of images or words, or sensations in your body like tingles, tension, aches and pains and energy moving… you may have an urge to move your body, shake, tremor or yell… or you might bliss out in pure relaxation and deep connection to self.
Sometimes you’ll experience ‘nothing’ consciously, but you’ll begin to notice changes in your life, opportunities showing up, or you’ll notice that you’re responding differently to things.
I’ve had many clients reframe past traumatic events so they are no longer triggered, they’ve been able to cut cords to unhealthy people and situations and set clear, healthy boundaries. Some have accessed past lives, connected to spirit guides, ancestors and loved ones that have passed over, and one client opened up more fully to speaking light language, but often it’s our inner child that wants to be seen, heard, loved and empowered, changing our story for good.
No two sessions will ever be the same, so you have to surrender any expectations or control over what might happen.
It’s an amazing way of rewriting your life script while doing good for your body.
How Conscious Connected Breathwork creates lasting change
We humans have a tendency to ‘check out’ of our bodies and take off into unconsciousness when we’re just about to come into contact with the thing we’ve been avoiding feeling – the thing that will actually move us forwards in our life once we fully process the energy – and it all shows up in the breath.
As babies, we tend to breathe in a flowing connected manner naturally, but as we grow older, when anything happens that causes us to feel stress, fear or severe overwhelm, we tense up and contract our breath.
When we push down the feelings that we learn aren’t okay to express, or that our psyche isn’t able to handle, we essentially suppress them into our subconscious. This can lead to a buildup of unresolved emotions, creating a cycle where they resurface unexpectedly, often triggered by similar situations or events. These suppressed feelings can manifest in various ways, such as anxiety, depression, or physical symptoms.
By avoiding these feelings, we inadvertently reinforce the pattern of suppressing emotions, making it more difficult to confront and process them in a healthy way. This is where the Conscious Connected Breathing technique comes in, allowing us to actively engage with and release these suppressed emotions, ultimately leading to their integration and diffusing the trigger.
Breathwork is not just a healing tool… Breath is creative.
In many cultures and languages the words for ‘breath’ and ‘spirit’ or ‘soul’ are the same. Life force, chi, prana… the universal intelligence that grows everything in nature towards its potential… is carried through our breath.
Not only is your breath the only reason that you’re alive here on planet Earth, but conscious breathing works with our heart-felt intentions to bring us the greatest satisfaction, abundance and joy, and guides us to grow into who we’re here to become.
Our powerful breath guides us towards what’s true and can resource us to move through anything that would pull us off track. So we can literally breathe life into our desires.

My journey with breathwork
I first experienced breathwork when I started yoga over thirty years ago. I always loved pranayama and was fascinated by the power of the breath to bring about different states of consciousness and presence in the body and mind. This led me to kundalini breathwork and the deeper discipline of vipassana breathwork, which is profoundly transformative, but not so easy to keep practicing.
In 2021 I discovered Wim Hof’s cold water therapy and breathwork style, and I did a lot of practice that catapulted me into this love affair with breathwork – but I didn’t feel called to train in the Wim Hof Method. Following my inner guidance, I got led to Conscious Connected Breathwork, and began training with the Breathing Journeys breathwork school in 2023.
I love how gentle and grounding this style of breathwork is, and how it gets me out of my head and into my body, so I’ve become more aware of my feelings and better able to ask for what I want and need. And as someone who’s always had a lot of energy going through my brain, which means I don’t typically sleep well, I can over-think things and feel overwhelmed easily, if I practice conscious breathing, it relaxes my body and calms my brain. That means I can drop off more easily if I wake up in the night, or find clarity and solutions in the space that’s been created in my mind and body.
Because breathwork regulates the nervous system, it helped me to move through a period of anxiety and burnout, find peace and acceptance and let go of resistance, which has made me feel stronger and more resourced, even when things get tough. I’m experiencing much more flow, aligned opportunities are manifesting and things that haven’t felt truly aligned have dropped away – with very little effort from me.
It’s been an amazing journey!

My own client work that I’ve been doing for over twenty years brings together awareness of breath, being and body, and for the last few months I’ve been weaving together conscious connected breathwork with my intuitive transformational coaching and unique way of connecting clients to their Higher Self, so this amazingly simple, yet profound technique, has already been getting incredible results!
A 121 breathwork session, where you are safely held in a non-judgemental space and free to express yourself authentically, can be a gentle, yet profound experience. Breathwork sessions
To begin with I offer an initial free Zoom conversation to talk about what you hope to achieve with breathwork and to see if it’s right for you. And then, if it feels like a good fit and we choose to work together, you can decide how many sessions you’d like to book.
I’ll send you a pre-session questionnaire to complete, and then we’re good to go.
That’s it!
An initial session is two hours, and then typically subsequent sessions last for 90+/- minutes. This includes being able to share anything that you need to speak about ahead of the ‘breathe’, support to set a clear intention before we start, any appropriate transformational processes required, time to integrate anything that came up during the breathe, and coaching to help you get to where you want to be in your life.

Breathwork Breakthrough taster session – FREE (this 45-minute taster session is a chance for us to connect, explore the benefits of breathwork, and see if this practice feels right for you. It’s designed for those who are genuinely curious about creating positive change in their lives and want to get a sense of whether we’re a good fit to work together – book here)
3 sessions – £360 (good for working through a single specific issue)
5 sessions – £550 / 10 sessions £1000 (better for dealing with deeper, more complex issues with many threads – or a life transition journey)
